At the bottom of the range, the 1.4 litre engine which produces 84 BHP is probably best to avoid. The 1.4 TSI engine variant offers a better performance with the price difference not being too much.

The FR version of the car produces a staggering 208 BHP from it’s 2.0 litre TSI engine. The pricey SEAT Cupra produces 237 BHP and the Cupra R is a little higher at 261 BHP.

The diesel 1.6 litre engine is able to achieve 104 BHP. This engine also comes as an Ecomotive variant. The 2.0 TDI has two variants attached to each producing 138 BHP and 168 BHP respectively.


Safety within the SEAT Leon is perhaps one of the car’s strongest features. As standard the SEAT Leon will come with stability control and front, side and curtain airbags making everyone safe within. The car achieved a four star rating at the Euro NCAP test results which is a respectable score.

The SEAT Leon has great running costs especially within the diesel range. The car also surprisingly holds it’s value extremely well when compared to major rivals.
