The brand new American bound Volkswagen CC R-Line will get the engine from the Volkswagen Golf GTI. Volkswagen clearly wants to distinguish the vehicle from the model that it replaces, the Volkswagen Passat CC, which really didn’t have much appeal in terms of sportiness and speed.
Turbocharged 200 BHP engine
The 2.0 litre TSI engine has done wonders in the Golf GTI and it is expected to do the same within the new Golf GTI. It is expected to produce 200 BHP when installed within the CC R-Line. The engine will be turbocharged and one of most sustainable in it’s class.
Manual or automatic transmission
The car will come with either a manual or dual clutch automatic transmission gearbox. Both will be mated to six gears.
Aggressive looking bodykit
The front bumpers appear to be a lot more aggressive. The front fog lights have been reshaped with the 18 inch alloy wheels standing out. The side skirts are much lower to give the car a sportier look.
Plenty of standard equipment included
The Volkswagen CC R-Line will come with so much standard equipment that there may not be a need to upgrade further. These include dual zone climate control, rain sensing wipers, LED tail lights, LED DRL’s, automatic headlights, heated 12 way adjustable front seats, a Bluetooth and iPod connectivity Audio system, a touch screen infotainment system plus plenty more. The six disc CD changer comes as standard but is nowadays not considered a major piece of equipment.
Nice touches inside
Inside the vehicle there will neatly be stainless steel scuff plate for passengers to step on and enter the car. The multifunction steering wheel will come with F1 style paddle shifters, enhancing the driving experience.
Making it’s debut in Germany
The car will make it’s debut at a German car show in the city of Leipzig. Fans will be waiting with great anticipation.
Better value for money than the CLS and A7?
We believe that the Volkswagen CC R-Line will be one of the most stylish vehicles available on the American market next year. Rivals will include the magnificent Audi A7 and the Mercedes-Benz CLS. Will the Volkswagen CC R-Line manage to beat car that come with such luxury and a great reputation? Some experts have described the CC R-Line as more fun than the rivals mentioned above, despite the lowering in price.
