The stunning new Volkswagen Golf MK7 prices have been revealed. The basic entry level version will start at £16,330.

The car was recently seen at the Paris Motor Show as was the GTI version. Looks wise, it is fairly difficult to distinguish between the outgoing model and the seventh generation model. What has changed is the amount of space within the car, which has increased. This will help give the car that cutting edge when compared to rivals.

At the lowest level of the chain, the car will come with a 1.2 TSI engine which is capable of producing 85 BHP or 105 BHP, depending on the variant that you go for. If that is not enough for you, there is also a 1.4 TSI engine capable of producing 122 BHP.

On top of that, another variant of the 1.4 TSI engine comes with Active Cylinder Technology, capable of producing 140 BHP. This engine is also placed within the Audi A1. Cylinder Deactivation technology works in a wonderful way, helping to reduce emissions and fuel consumption where possible. When the car is running below a certain speed, the cylinders will be deactivated so that energy as well as fuel is saved.

The diesel options are not bad either. These include a 1.6 TDI which is capable of producing 105 BHP. The other is a 2.0 TDI capable of producing 150 BHP.

As standard all models come with engine start stop as standard together with battery regeneration.
Customers will get to choose from three different trims, the S, SE and the GT. The Bluemotion and highly anticipated GTI model will be released next year in 2013.

Safety wise, all models of the Volkswagen Golf MK7 are well equipped. They all have 7 airbags, a driver’s knee airbag, ESP, XDS electronic differential lock along with Isofix locks for child seats.

The inside of the car has a 5.8 inch colour touch screen, placed neatly on the dashboard alongside the surrounding controls. The car comes with Bluetooth connectivity ability, Climatic semi automatic air conditioning, iPod connectivity ability.

The SE model has stylish 16 inch alloy wheels that comes with ADC (Automatic Distance Control), Front City Assist and City Emergency Braking. There are also rain sensitive wipers plus automatic lights.

GT versions come with special Dijon alloy wheels. These come with front fog lights and special sporty air intakes on the front.
The new Volkswagen Golf MK7 is sure to make a great impact here in the UK, just like the previous 6 generations.
