All New Volkswagen C Coupe GTE
Larger than normal Volkswagen
This Volkswagen is told to measure 199.7 inches in length, which is unusually large but it has been designed for the Chinese market. To give you an idea of how large this is in reality, it measures somewhere in-between the Passat mainstay and the Phantom flagship. But for some reason Volkswagen are calling this concept a ‘Coupe’ when to most of us it sounds and looks more like a Sedan.
All new slick look
The new Volkswagen C Coupe GTE has some really defining traits to its design; to start off with it has a strikingly long hood and a short overhang, which results in a very elegant look. The horizontal lines across the body of the car look really sharp, which carry on into the cabin of the vehicle. Volkswagen is also saying this design is a preview into the next-generation CC and even the next Phaeton which is set to be released before the end of this decade.
All new efficient engine
The C Coupe GTE has a gasoline-burning turbocharged/direct-injected 2.0 litre/207-horsepower 4-cylinder engine, connected to an 8-speed automatic transmission with its very own 122-horse power electric motor. All this working together can send the car from 0-62mph in 8.6 seconds and can travel to utpo 144mph according to Volkwagen, and has a total range of 684 miles. The Volkswagen C Coupe GTE can also operate in 5 different modes, Hybrid, electric-only E-Mode, sporty GTE or Battery Charge/Battery hold setting, this mode is only normally used to maintain or boost charge levels until the vehicle can be plugged into a dedicated charge point.
