The forthcoming model will be unveiled in Geneva next March and is expected to be taking the place of the CC, an often overlooked Volkswagen family member. Sources have revealed that production on the CC has now stopped, though British dealerships will continue to stock it for the time being.
VW has suggested that the Arteon will feature updated design language, the look of the new vehicle has been described as “a highly expressive, horizontally accentuated brand look”. The ‘art’ in the name Arteon is meant to represent the saloon’s “harmonious lines and emotionality”.
Early spy shots gathered of the Arteon during development suggest the car will be a sizable, upmarket four-door saloon with aerodynamic lines and an imposing road presence.
The interior is set to feature the VW Group’s latest technology and attractive interior materials. Four-cylinder turbocharged engines are expected to be the most likely powertrain options for the new models at first, but an electric edition is inevitable.
