The Volkswagen Amarok was already a vehicle that was especially suited to a specific area of the market. Despite that, it will be made even more special. Volkswagen has announced that a new Amarok Canyon Edition is to be released.
The Canyon special edition will be released in 2013. The concept has already been seen at the Geneva Auto Show, earlier this year. Volkswagen will develop the vehicle as close as possible towards the concept. This will include a styling bar, AT wheels, unique interior features and a lamp bar. The colours inside and out at the motor show were vibrant and a stand out feature, the same theme will continue for the final production version.
The special edition will be based on the Trendline trim of the standard version. There will be a special Copper Orange paint colour along the exterior. The rear lights will have darkened rear clusters with black wheel arches, offering a superb contrast. The styling bar has been redesigned from the concept version. The rear bumper is now painted in black rather the silver seen at the motor show. A cargo cover will be included to help protect whatever luggage is stored.
Engine wise, the Volkswagen Amarok Canyon will come with the normal TDI engines which the standard Amarok will come with. There will be an optional 4MOTION four wheel drive train along with a differential lock which is placed on the rear axle. The car also comes with AT tyres, the same as those on the concept model wrapped around the 17 inch Roca alloy wheels. There are 18 inch alloy wheels available as an optional extra along with road tyres.
The leather seats will come with a two tone colour scheme helping to distinguish the special edition model with the standard one. The sun visor will be made out of matt chrome, again helping to separate both models. Even the steering wheel gets a nice change being leather and having three spokes.
If the exclusive copper orange body colour does not suit you, there is always the option of selecting other colours such as Reflex Silver, Natural Grey and Sand Beige.
The news of the Volkswagen Amarok Canyon is still quite fresh. Prices and specifications have not been announced but will be closer to the vehicle’s release date.
